We always wanted to be able to contribute to the VR community with a flexible format for immersive audio technology. With ORTF-3D, we finally found a format that fits our understanding of quality and sound aesthetics.The Schoeps ORTF-3D outdoor set was the obvious choice after testing other systems. The clarity of the microphones coupled with the low noise makes this system ideal for our high-end surround libraries. The ambisonic systems we tested are limited in many ways, they don’t feel realistic, and to be honest, they don’t sound as good either. The ORTF 3D paired with new innovative spatial audio playback formats like Mach 1 are the future of realistic and impactful sound design.

3D and object-oriented audio production associated with Ultra HD:
The main court is covered by many microphones. 4 super-directional microphones (Schoeps SuperCMIT) favor the capture of racket strikes, associated with 4 semi-canon microphones (2 Schoeps CMIT-5 mounted on the chair of the referee and 2 Neumann KMR81 associated with the cameras filming the players in service) on both sides of the net.
The referee wears a lavalier microphone from the quarter finals, the sound of the microphone connected to the sound of the stadium for the announcement of scores is also included. Two other microphones (Schoeps cardioids MK 4) are planned to capture possible discussions of the players with the referee during the breaks. Finally, the legendary atmosphere of the main court was captured this year with a Schoeps ORTF-3D microphone equipped with 8 capsules and capable of reproducing sound in 3 dimensions.

Varianten & Optionen Der Windkorb ist normalerweise für hängenden Betrieb ausgelegt, so wie er im Stadion verwendet wird. Es ist eine eigene Variante für Stativbetrieb erhältlich.
Ein Regenschutz kann statt des Fells bestellt/vorinstalliert werden.
Anstelle der CCM-Mikrofone eignen sich auch Mikrofone, die aus einem CMC 1 L-Verstärker und einer MK-Kapsel bestehen. Das ORTF-3D Outdoor Set kann alternativ auch in dieser modularen Form bestellt werden.
